RADIAL CLEARANCE

The radial clearance is measured by means of an integrated radial bearing with an outer ring, inner ring, and rolling element set.

The radial clearance is defined as the amount by which a bearing ring can be shifted toward another one in the radial direction from one limit position to another, e.g. an inner ring toward an outer ring (see Fig. 1).

It is classified in groups according to DIN 620-4, ISO 5753 standards (see Table 5 and Fig. 3).
